Jatoba is a new wood Tim is working with.

When it is first milled has a tan to orange color with some black striping. The wood can develop a rich deep color over time. It is very dense and hard. That means it will add a little to the overall weight of a board.

Here are some early photos of an unfinished board. Tim and Randy shot a number of different point and checker combinations to get a feel for what a finished board would look like.
