A number of our members compete in American Backgammon Tournament events and win! They are happy to share their knowledge with new members.  We usually have from 12 to 16 players in the tournament.  Several players come early to eat dinner and play in chouettes before the tournament begins.  Questions, comments and suggestions can be sent to justgammon@ymail.com There is a modified double-elimination tournament every Tuesday evening at: Wizards in Burien.  15733 Ambaum Boulevard Southwest Burien, WA 98166-2524 The tournament draw is 7:30pm.  All matches are 7 points. Entry fee is $10, optional side pool is $20. It was a close race till the final night and the Player of the Year for 2011 is.......... Al Lunder with 50.5 points!  Congratulations!!   Also, special congrats to Harvey Gillis.  He took 2nd for the overall points in ABT (American Backgammon Tournaments).  This is a ranking of all the open class players who compete in the ABT tournaments around the country.  Players earn points for each tournament they compete in depending on how they place for each tournament.  Well Done Harvey!
